Extinction Event: Palamu Red Cross Society To Hold Polls After 7 Years | Ranchi News


Daltonganj: The Palamu district unit of the Indian Red Cross will hold organisational election after seven years this November. The last election was held in 2016. Deputy commissioner Palamu Shashi Ranjan has directed the secretary of Red Cross Society Palamu, Satyajit Gupta, to start preparations.
The Jharkhand Raj Bhavan has sent a couple of letters to the DC to ensure early election. The last letter was sent on August 30, 2023. TOI has a copy of the letter.
“On October 14, the DC asked me to start preparations for the election pending for the last seven years. One election was due in 2019, but it could not be held because of Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections. After that the pandemic struck the world. I tried in 2022 also, but it could not be held due to civic body polls,” Gupta said. The election would be held for 12 posts. usually, such election is held every three years. TNN
